This seemingly ordinary piece of paper actually embodies sophisticated chemical and engineering ingenuity, silently penetrating every corner of our lives.
The core of thermal labels lies in their special coating. A thin thermal coating covers the paper surface, containing invisible dye precursors and developers. When the printer’s thermal head heats up and acts on a specific area, the minute heat triggers a rapid chemical reaction, causing the dye to instantly develop color, forming clear text, barcodes, or images. The entire process requires no ink or ribbon, is quiet, fast, and relatively clean.
This characteristic gives thermal labels an irreplaceable advantage in many fields. However, thermochromic labels also have their limitations.
